How to Restart Macbook Air

As the name suggests,  restart  is a function on a computer that we can use to restart the computer.

So, unlike  shutting down  which will turn off the computer,  restarting  will turn off the computer and then automatically turn it back on.

We can use shutdown  when we are no longer using  the computer .

Meanwhile,  we can use restart  if we want to continue using the computer, but at that time the computer is too heavy because there are many processes running.

On the Macbook Air, there are at least two ways that Androbuntu friends can use. Namely via the Menu Bar and also using the  power button .

Restart Via Menu Bar (Easiest Way)

The easiest way to restart your  Macbook Air is via the  Restart menu  in the Menu Bar.

This can be used for most situations if your Macbook Air is not  hanging  or  having errors .

The method is as follows:

  • Click the Apple icon in the left corner of your Macbook Air screen;
  • Click the  Restart… menu ;
  • A small window will appear saying “Are you sure you want to restart the computer now?”, click the  Restart button ;
  • Your Macbook Air will then undergo a  rebooting  or  restart process . The screen will turn off for a few moments, then turn back on.

Force Restart Using Power Button

There are times when the first method cannot be used, the reason is because your Androbuntu Macbook Air  hangs  or stops processing all the  input requests  that you make.

Therefore you cannot use  the touchpad  or  mouse  to access the  restart menu .

But don’t worry, you can still restart your  Macbook Air by using the Power button.

This button is also sometimes referred to as  the Eject button  or Fingerprint button.

The button is located in the upper right corner of the keyboard. That is the button you usually use to activate your Macbook Air.

Press and hold the button for a few seconds. Then your Macbook Air screen will automatically turn off, then it will turn on again in a few seconds.

All  the files  you are working on may not be saved if you restart using  this method.

Therefore, only use this method in certain situations. An example is when your Macbook Air stops responding.
