Hungarian Study System
The education system in Hungary has several fundamental differences from Indonesia.
First, there are 2 (two) types of educational institutions that carry out lectures, namely egyetem (university) and foiskola ( college ), where both institutions open study programs for 3 (three) levels of education, namely:
- Undergraduate with a duration of study of 3-4 years
- Master with a study duration of 1-2 years
- Doctorate with a duration of study of 4-5 years
Second, the lecture system in Hungary also uses a European credit transfer system called the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), so that the grades issued by educational institutions in Hungary are recognized by other educational institutions in any European country. In addition, at the end of the semester, the course credits that have been completed by students will also be evaluated using a university rating scale in Hungary that has been designed to comply with ECTS.
Third, although in general study programs are offered at 3 levels of education, there are study programs offered in an integrated system ( one-tier ) where the Bachelor and Master levels are one such as programs in veterinary medicine, architecture, dentistry, phaemaceutics, law and medicine . This one-tier study program usually consists of 10-12 semesters (study duration of 5-6 years), with 300-360 semester credits.
