If you are a new student going to study in Denmark, you will be charged fees ranging from €6,000 to €16,000 per year depending on the institution and program of study. 

Cheaper degrees, such as social sciences, start from around €6,000 per year, while specialist degrees such as medicine can cost up to €35,000 per year. The average cost of a degree in Denmark is around €12,000 to €15,000 per year. Self-funded PhD programs usually cost between €10,000 and €16,000 per year.

  3. Pay the application fee (unless have a bachelor’s degree from a Danish educational institution)
  4. Apply  online  through the Application Portal

2.  Danish Masters Scholarship: Danish Government Scholarship

Danish Government Scholarships are given to international students who wish to continue their master’s level studies in Denmark. These Danish government scholarships are awarded as full or partial tuition fee waivers and/or as an amount covering basic living expenses. A monthly living allowance of DKK 7,000 (approximately IDR 15,200,000). Although it covers tuition and living expenses, this scholarship does not cover visas, round-trip tickets and accommodation.

Registration requirement

  1. Nationals outside the EU, EEA or Switzerland
  2. Get a master’s program at selected universities
  3. Grants time-limited residence permits for the purpose of studying a higher education program in Denmark

  1. Transcripts
  2. Self-assessment (if a Bachelor’s degree does not automatically meet academic requirements)
  3. Course description of the previous course
  4. GPA
  5. CV
  6. Degree certificate
  7. Proof of English proficiency

How to register

Registration is done in person at the selected university.  All non-EU/EEA applicants for Master’s degree programs at selected universities will automatically be considered for the Danish Government Scholarship, provided they are eligible. So, no need to register separately.

3.  Denmark Masters Scholarship: Roskilde University Scholarship

The Roskilde University Scholarship  is a fully funded scholarship. Check out the complete information below:

Registration requirement

  1. Graduate applicants who come from countries outside the EU/EEA and require a residence permit to study at Roskilde University. Graduate applicants who are required to pay university tuition fees.
  2. Graduate applicants holding a bachelor’s degree from Roskilde University or graduate applicants from other universities.

4.  Danish Doctoral Scholarship: Islamic Development Bank Scholarship

Registration requirement

PhD Studies:

  1. Have a Master’s degree in one of the program’s areas of study
  2. Have minimum academic achievement (“Very Good”)
  3. Preferably have work and/or research experience
  4. Have a research proposal in one of the program’s study areas stating the relevance of science and its development for society/country
  5. Medically fit and willing to undergo medical tests after selection

Post-Doctoral Research:

  1. Have a PhD in one of the approved program areas
  2. Have minimum academic achievement (“Very Good”)
  3. Have experience of at least 2 (two) years in the field of research
  4. Must have a record of publication/research in the same field
  5. Have a research proposal in one of the program’s study areas stating the relevance of science and its development for society/country
  6. Medically fit and willing to undergo medical tests after selection
